Jacob Geyer is a Director of Photography based in Chattanooga, TN.

Since childhood, he has been enamored with the idea that photos and frames can suspend a moment, allowing them to "live forever."

This quickly led to the discovery of moving images and a passion for motion pictures. Jacob's fascination grew out of tragedy: losing his family at a young age. Photographs and memories became a beacon and were instrumental in how he processed his past and envisioned his future. The life-changing quality of storytelling imparted deep joy, and Jacob endeavored to study films and one day create them. He believes this art form can be one of encouragement and beauty, even amidst the experience of human suffering.

Jacob sets himself apart in his technicality, leadership, and absolute passion with each frame. Studying cinema in France allowed him to practice theory and influenced his work, reinforcing that every choice must be purposeful, from lighting to camera movement. He understands that every decision has the opportunity to create depth, enriching the soil of the set environment. This quality allows collaborators and crew members to grow and create something sustainable, impactful, and soulful.

From his collegiate career and time in France, Jacob has fluency in French, opening doors for collaboration across barriers of language and culture. "This isn't just a career; it's a calling that must be chased with diligence, mindfulness, and expression." This calling has allowed him to impact and improve the lives of those around him through the way he, as a human, has been touched by the medium of art and film.
